Through the support of the Kaine Administration in 2008, Virginia made remarkable progress towards the improvement of statewide communications interoperability. This is the fifth version of the Statewide Plan and it shows the Commonwealth's continued commitment to the public safety practitioner community and marks the next step towards achieving the 2015 Vision of a system of systems on a local, regional, state and federal level.

Our Mission
Improve public safety communications in the Commonwealth of Virginia through enhanced data and voice communications interoperability.
2015 Vision
By 2015, agencies and their representatives at the local, regional, state, and federal levels will be able to communicate using compatible systems, in real time, across disciplines and jurisdictions, to respond more effectively during day-to-day operations and major emergency situations.
