Regional Efforts
Virginia Homeland Security Planning Regions
The Governor recognized the Virginia State Police Regions as the construct for homeland security regional planning purposes including communications interoperability. By focusing on regional planning, the Commonwealth is compliant with federal regulations for grant submissions and can more effectively address the needs of practitioners. It is acknowledged that communications interoperability must cross regional and even state borders in order to be effective. The map below shows the seven Homeland Security Planning Regions.
