Guidance for State Agencies

This website provides guidance for state agencies to endorse and/or migrate from coded language systems to the common language protocol.  We encourage all state agencies to endorse the common language protocol.  There for four sets of resources that can aid your endorsement and/or migration:

• Download the common language one-pager to read general information regarding the protocol and guidance for migration.

• Download sample endorsement letters and engage your leadership to submit a letter to the Commonwealth Interoperability Coordinator.

• Download the common language guidance document.  This document was developed based on best practices demonstrated by agencies within the Commonwealth that have made the change from coded language systems to common language.

• Download case studies and additional documents from state agencies that have already migrated from coded language to common language.
