Guidance for Associations
This website provides guidance for associations that are interested in endorsing the common language protocol and communicating its importance to their members. Associations may:
- Download the common language one-pager to read general information regarding the protocol and guidance for migration. This document may be printed and provided to member organizations.
- Download sample endorsement letters and engage your leadership to submit a letter to the Commonwealth Interoperability Coordinator.
- Download the common language guidance document. This document was developed based on best practices demonstrated by agencies within the Commonwealth that have made the change from coded language systems to common language. This document may be provided to members to guide them through migration.
Download case studies and additional documents from state and local agencies that have already migrated from coded language to common language to build the case within your organization.
In addition to guiding documents the Commonwealth Interoperability Coordinator’s Office in the Governor’s Office of Commonwealth Preparedness may provide pocket cards that describe the common language protocol for use by field practitioners and dispatchers. Please contact the Office if you are interested in obtaining cards for distribution to your members.
